Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit Indian actress famous for Hum Aapke Hing Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is among the most popular Indian actors. Her career began as an actress during the 80s. The actress became popular for the movie Tezaab with veteran actor Anil Kooor. In the following film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared with her. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance at an early age. As a young woman, she started acting but had a difficult time as a majority of her movies were unsuccessful. Then she found her way to success and she went on to be one of the most prominent actors in the Indian film industry. After her marriage, she took a hiatus in her professional career. The actress returned in later years. In recent years, Dixit was a key player in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit is nominated to win fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Dixit was also awarded her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. In addition, she is known for her charitable works.
